Guanajuato has a portfolio of 15 energy projects in Mexico.

In Mexico, the state of Guanajuato continues to strive for energy sufficiency and currently has a portfolio of 15 green technology projects: solar photovoltaic, combined cycle, hydroelectric, wind and green hydrogen production.  This investment will generate 1,227 MW of electrical energy for domestic and industrial use, as well as 5,530 tons of green hydrogen.

The Secretary of Economy of Guanajuato highlighted that the cities identified with high potential for investment in renewable energy are San Felipe, San Luis de la Paz, San Diego de la Unión, Doctor Mora, Romita, Abasolo, Salamanca, San Miguel de Allende, Irapuato, Acámbaro and Salvatierra.

The state of Guanajuato is interconnected with the national power grid, which guarantees a constant and stable supply required for industrial and commercial operations. This package of 15 investments seeks to strengthen the energy infrastructure and maintain Guanajuato as an attractive destination for industrial businesses.

For her part, Claudia Cristina Villaseñor Aguilar, head of Economy, emphasized that Guanajuato is working to create the conditions to promote private investment that will drive the generation and preservation of jobs. This effort is in line with the state strategy that envisions taking advantage of nearshoring opportunities and maintaining Guanajuato as an attractive business destination for large companies.
