Guanajuato received more than 4,200 million dollars of investment in 2024

The industrious state of Guanajuato ended 2024 with 26 new investment projects totaling 4,299 million dollars. Such investments and expansions were made in strategic sectors such as: automotive-auto parts, agri-food, metal-mechanics, new technologies, electronics and medical devices.

The main countries that this year entrusted their investment in Guanajuato are: United States, China, Japan, Italy, Mexico, Taiwan and France.

The Department of Economy highlighted that some projects that stand out are the expansions of leading companies such as PepsiCo, Ferrero, Whirlpool and Mazda, as well as new high-impact projects such as the Walmart distribution center in Silao and the Aztema tire plant in Irapuato.

The state of Guanajuato has a network of medium-sized cities that have the infrastructure, human capital and logistics necessary to attract and host world-class companies. Some of the investments have come to cities such as Apaseo el Grande, Silao, León, Jaral del Progreso, Celaya, Irapuato, San José Iturbide, Salamanca, Comonfort, Doctor Mora and Victoria.

The Department of Economy highlighted that these results “are the fruit of Guanajuato’s high competitiveness, its prosperity ecosystems and the strategic advantages that make the state an attractive destination for both national and foreign investors”.

The state agency reported that of these 26 projects, four of them were completed during the last quarter, the beginning of the government of Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, with an investment of US$1.73 billion and more than 2,200 jobs committed.
