Guanajuato leads the mexican automotive industry

According to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), the state of Guanajuato will rank first in the country in terms of the value of vehicle production in 2024, with a cumulative amount of 658 billion pesos and an annual growth rate of 16.8%, exceeding the national average of 6%.

In this way, Guanajuato concentrates 18.52% of the national production value of the automotive sector, consolidating the state as a strategic reference for investment and industrial innovation.

According to the Secretary of Economy, Guanajuato’s automotive cluster contributes 20.6% of the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and employs more than 220 thousand people.

In addition, Guanajuato is home to four world-class assemblers: Honda, General Motors, Toyota and Mazda, as well as two original equipment manufacturers (OEMs): Ford and Volkswagen, strengthening the productive capacity of the sector.

This infrastructure is complemented by a network of strategic international suppliers such as Pirelli, Continental, Michelin, American Axle, BOS, GKN and Ryobi, among others, that drive innovation, efficiency and competitiveness in the supply chain.

The Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villaseñor Aguilar, emphasized that these results reflect the confidence of global companies in Guanajuato, a state that offers a solid infrastructure, qualified labor and competitive conditions.
