Japan is Guanajuato’s main investment partner
Guanajuato reaffirmed its position as a strategic destination for Japanese investment, consolidating a relationship that promotes economic and social development.
With an accumulated investment of $8,989.13 million dollars and the creation of 48,140 jobs in 145 projects, Japan has consolidated its position as Guanajuato’s main investment partner. The Japanese presence in key sectors such as the automotive industry, advanced manufacturing and agribusiness has been fundamental to the state’s economic growth.
A delegation of Guanajuato government officials, led by the Secretary of Economy, Cristina Villaseñor, is on a working tour in Japan with the purpose of attracting more investments in strategic sectors that generate high quality jobs; promoting and expanding the presence of Guanajuato products in the Asian market; increasing agri-food exports; as well as strengthening the relationship of the Government of Guanajuato with important Japanese companies, reaffirming the interest in Guanajuato as the best investment destination in Mexico.
«In Guanajuato, we work with a clear vision: to attract investments that strengthen our strategic sectors and generate wealth for our people. Japan trusts our state and our mission is to continue consolidating Guanajuato as the best place to invest, grow and innovate,» Villaseñor said.

The Guanajuato delegation will also participate in FOODEX Japan 2025, one of the most important agri-food trade shows in Asia. Guanajuato wants to strengthen its presence in the Japanese market, where there is a growing demand for high-quality products such as broccoli, asparagus, berries, beef, tequila and mezcal.
