RECEIVES RECORD INVESTMENT AMOUNT FOR EXPANSIONS
The state of Guanajuato continues to hold a special position as a destination of interest for international companies. The Secretary of Economy informed that in the last 20 years, investments of 14,357 million dollars have been received, representing 239 expansion projects and more than 91,630 new jobs.

These results «reflect the confidence of national and foreign investors in public policies that promote security, trust and support for economic actors,» said Claudia Cristina Villaseñor Aguilar, secretary of Economy.
The official press release mentions that the 239 expansion projects cover various strategic sectors such as automotive, auto parts, agri-food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, electrical household appliances, leather and footwear, textile and clothing, services, new technologies and chemicals.
Among the most important projects are assembly plant expansions: General Motors, Honda, Mazda and Toyota, as well as other multinational companies such as Ford, Volkswagen, Pirelli, Michelin, Ferrero, Continental, American Axle, Mabe, Nestle, Procter & Gamble, Danone, Colgate, Whirlpool, mainly.

These expansions, according to the Secretary of Economy, have promoted the modernization of logistics infrastructure, the development of industrial parks, the improvement of the labor market, the promotion of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), technology transfer and energy projects in the state of Guanajuato.
