INVESTMENT IN GUANAJUATO DOES NOT STOP, CHINESE COMPANY WASION MX ARRIVES
On June 6, Wison Mx inaugurated its new transformer production plant in the Irapuato Industrial Center in Irapuato.
During the opening ceremony, the governor of Guanajuato, Libia Denisse García Muñoz Ledo said that the opening of this new «world-class» plant «sends a clear and strong message of confidence in Guanajuato and will give a powerful boost to the national electricity industry.»
She added that this plant will contribute significantly to the modernization of the country’s electrical infrastructure by enabling the state of Guanajuato to manufacture electrical transformers, equipment that was previously imported.
Installing Wasion Mx in Guanajuato will reduce costs and delivery times, as well as technological dependence. This will boost the response capacity of the Mexican electrical system.
For his part, Xijun Feng, the president of Wasion Energy, pledged to deepen technology exchanges between China and Mexico to take advantage of energy renovation opportunities and promote specialized technical training for employees.
Wasion Mx invested 7.3 million dollars in this new plant, creating 250 direct jobs. Of those jobs, 150 will be filled by men and 100 by women.
Wasion Mx also expands its plant installed in Guanajuato Puerto Interior
On the same day, Wasion Mx, a company that specializes in electric meters, invested $4.5 million in expanding its production plant in Guanajuato Puerto Interior in Silao. This new investment brings the total amount invested by the Chinese company to $34.5 million and will generate 950 jobs.
Wasion has produced 8 million meters and is the Federal Electricity Commission’s (CFE) main supplier in Mexico.
During the ceremony, Héctor López Santillana, general director of Guanajuato Puerto Interior, on behalf of the Governor of Guanajuato, Libia Denisse García Muñoz Ledo, expressed in his welcome message that this investment is a sign of the confidence that global companies have in Guanajuato.
“Today we celebrate with enthusiasm the expansion of this plant specialized in smart electric meters, an investment that confirms Wasion’s confidence in Guanajuato and Mexico, and symbolizes a firm commitment to joint development, innovation and long-term growth”, he said.
Regarding the opportunities Guanajuato Puerto Interior offers investors, López Santillana said:

Expanding its production plant will benefit the Mexican industry in several ways.
