Guanajuato is making further inroads into the global market through exports of traditional products, which totaled more than $658 million from January through June 2026. This milestone not only reflects the quality of the agricultural, artisanal, and manufacturing sectors in the state but also enhances the value and recognition of Mexican identity on the international stage.

In the first six months of this year, the traditional products that gained the most global traction included boots, fresh chili peppers, tortillas, tacos, and tostadas, guacamole, sauces, hats, ceramic decorations, tequila, mezcal, mole, and piñatas.

Leading the list of top exports are leather boots, which totaled $303.4 million, closely followed by fresh chili peppers at $211.9 million.

Also noteworthy are the categories of traditional foods and accessories:

  • Tortillas, tacos, and tostadas: $44.8 million.
  • Guacamole and sauces: $43.3 million. (Nota: Se unificó «sauces» para mantener consistencia con el inicio del texto, donde ya habías traducido «salsas» como «sauces»).

  • Tequila: $7.3 million.
  • Mole: $731,000.
